Baby Nook

So here is our "Baby Nook". I am hoping if I work hard like I did with Trev, this one will be sleeping through the night in no time that way I can move him out of the living room and into Trevs' room.

I am totally in love with the bedding. I got it for $50, originally $200. And the cute blocks were made by my Aunt Tammy.

I think we are pretty much set to go! My Mom and Sis had a "Baby Sprinkle" for me in December. I received so many adorable clothes, blankets and toys along with some diapers and wipes which will definitely be put to good use. Also, a friend of mine from church is having a "Dessert & Diaper" shower for me this Saturday. I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many generous people. I feel kinda spoiled actually. I hope everyone knows how much I appreciate their support!

We have 8 days to go until I am induced. I am getting a little anxious to meet this little guy. Maybe I will go early on my own. Not to mention I am a little ready to be done with the glucose testing 4 times a day.

I am so happy to have my own little family. I am glad we waited a few years, but nothing compares to having kiddos. Jason is the best Husband and Dad. I love seeing him play and wrestle with Trev. I have no doubt that this next boy will love him just as much. It makes my heart melt every time Jas comes home and Trev just gets so excited. He has a special sparkle in his eye for him. I am truly grateful that Jason loves us more than work or some hobby. In a childs eyes, Love is spelt T.I.M.E. The last 4 years have been an adventure and I can't wait to add to it.

BRACES!!!

So I am about 15 again:) No it is not actually that bad. I had clear braces put on yesterday that have a tiny wire that is hardly visible. Right now I am quite uncomfortable, but the pain should go away by tomorrow. It isn't a throbbing pain, but it is a very irritating pain. They did the top yesterday and in 6 weeks they will be doing the bottom.

I am actually really excited about them and I don't feel as self conscious as I thought I would. Mostly because everyone I have seen hasn't even noticed them until I said something. Plus it is worth the sacrifice. I have been wanting braces for about 14 years now desperately and thanks to my sweet Husband I now have them. Merry early Christmas present to me! This gift I will definitely remember forever.

Baby Shower

So my Sis' had a "Baby Sprinkle"(mini shower) for me on Saturday! It turned out so cute. She really put a lot of work into all of the details. I'll have to post pictures later because they are all on my moms camera, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped make it happen and to everyone that came! It was so much fun to see everyone and to receive such sweet gifts for our Future Little Boy.

A few weeks ago my friend posted a "Monster Hat" on her blog and it was so cute. Unfortunately, they are so popular with the lady that makes them that she was way backordered until December.

Anyhow, I really wanted it for Trevs Halloween Costume because I hate spending a lot of money on the cheap made ones at the store that are not really even cute. So I decided to search on Etsy for something like that cute hat and this is what I found. It was in different colors, but the lady was willing to do a custom order for me!

In a nutshell, I spent $22 and I now have the main piece to his costume and a way stinkin' cute hat for the winter. Not to mention to finish off his costume I tore up an old pair of jeans of his. He has an olive green t-shirt and I am going to paint his face green.

So this is my latest project. I fell in love with this bed at pottery barn, but I wasn't ready to spend $1000. My awesome dad took a look at the bed in the magazine and said, "Hey I can make that". $27 later he made the headboard. $30 later I did the custom crackle paint and now he has a flipping way cute bed if I may say:) Side note, the bed at pottery barn was headboard and footboard, but this was way cheap in comparison.

His bed skirt was from his custom crib set that my mom had made and we converted it to a twin bedskirt. $0

The pinstripe sheets were on clearance at Target for $12.

And the Quilt and Sham were at Target for $35.

For $100 basically, I think we did an awesome job for my sweet Trev

So here is my latest project! I got the idea from one of my favorite blogs "keepcalmandcallyourmom.com"(if you are not already following it, you should)

Anyhow, this turned out so stinking cute. I made it for my sister in-law that just had her baby. It attaches to the handle of the carrier and drapes over the whole carrier shielding your baby from whatever is around(crowds, light, sick people who want to touch your baby and so on:) And it adds a nice trendy look!

Oh and did I mention these sell for up to $50 online and I made it for $11.

Finally, after 5 years Jason and I took a vacation! We spent a week in Florida with the whole family and it was awesome. I don't feel like journaling about this, but pictures are worth a thousand words so ENJOY!

Baby Joyner #2

Yes the rumors are true, Baby Joyner #2 is on the way. We found out Father's Day. I am due February 9, 2012!

This pregnancy is a lot different so far. I am so so sick. Luckily Doc prescribed me Zofran which helps, but there are plenty of side effects. Also, with Trev I didn't start showing until about 4 months and I wore my pre-pregnancy jeans until 7 1/2 months. With this one everything is already uncomfortable and my belly is already growing! I keep telling Jason it seems like I am having twins if I am growing this fast.

I have my first ultrasound in a week and a half so I will post some pics soon. Maybe even some belly pics...maybe:)

300 Eggs for 8 kids! Half were plastic eggs filled with candy and half were confetti eggs. Pretty much everyone got smashed with confetti eggs. I had it all down my shirt and into my pants:)

Temple Work

At first I was not going to Blog this experience because of fear. Fear of others' judgments, but I have felt in my heart so strongly to journal this...so I am.

I have found in my life that the best way to strengthen my testimony in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is to constantly question it. Every time Satan feeds me doubt, I have gone to the Lord in prayer. Sometimes he answers with a small whisper in my heart and sometimes it is the sound of a freight train. My most recent experience was a freight train...

2 years ago I began working on my genealogy work online. Much to my surprise, some of the work had been done. My pawpaw(whom I was very close to) along with his dad, already had some of their work submitted and done in the temple. At first I was really sad because I wanted the work to be done by someone close to him, but at the same time I was happy that someone had taken the step to get this done(I feel like I have been dragging my feet). I contacted the church to get the rest of their work released to me since I am the closest living relative in the church and so it was done.

Now the hard part. We have a rule in the church now that if the person deceased was born less than 95 years ago, we have to obtain permission from the closest living relative. Which is my memaw. I really don't know her feelings about what we do in the temple, but I do know this; the Lord answered my prayer last Saturday. When I woke up Saturday morning, I made the decision to call her and just ask her. Her response was, "Sure, what difference does it make to me". WOW, I was not really expecting that. Out of my excitement I told Jason what happened and he decided to take my Pawpaws' name through the temple that evening.

Jason went to the 5 o'clock session. At 6:29 while I was sitting at my desk doing paperwork, a flood of tears came out of nowhere and I was almost taken to a dream or I guess a day dream. My Pawpaw was standing in front of me in my living room smiling and crying, telling me how happy he was and how grateful he was for the work I had done for him by Jason. It was so real. For the record I have never had an experience like this, ever. Jason walked through the door a little after 7. His face red and tears in his eyes. I knew that he had had the same experience as me. He gave me a huge hug and told me that my Pawpaw's spirit was there. He was there and he was happy and he was so proud and grateful for the work I had set in place for him.

Shortly after as we were talking, I gave Jason a huge hug and as I turned my head I smelt a hospital blanket. The last time I saw my Pawpaw was in the hospital after he had already passed away. I remember laying next to him and giving him a hug goodbye. This memory was a reminder to me of how long ago that was. 13 years. 13 years he has been waiting. This is a testimony to me of the work I need to be doing. My ancestors are waiting on me. Me, because I am the only one in the family that can do this work right now and it is my job to get it done.

I know now that Jason was meant to do his work. I know that they must have known each other in the pre-existance. And as they worked together following the Lord's plan they promised each other somewhere along the way that they would find each other here someway and somehow and bring them back into the Lord's fold. 10 years ago when Jason and I first started dating, Jason had a dream about my Pawpaw. He had never seen him before and hadn't heard much about him, but when he walked into my Memaw's house one day, he knew exactly who the man in the picture on the table was. It was my Pawpaw. The same face in his dream.

I don't believe that this was just a coincidence. My heart, my testimony now knows even more how true His church is. Our Lord and Savior lives and loves us so much. We are not here by chance or evolution. We are here by a plan. A plan to prove ourselves to our Heavenly Father. To show him that through trials, tribulations and temptations we will still stand strong and follow Him to the end. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. The Book of Mormon is a true record of the people in the Americas so long ago and the Prophet Thomas S. Monson is a true and living Prophet that is here to guide us and help us through. The prophets of old were persecuted by non-believers and that tradition carries on today. I will not be one to turn away the Lord's messengers. He is my light, life and strength. He does not abandon us. He has made a promise to us through the atonement to help us back to His Heavenly Kingdom.

I leave this message with the world in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Project Master Bedroom

The one thing Jason and I have always put off is our room. It has always been a haven for "things". Like a junk drawer or closet. NOT ANYMORE. Last year I started on this project and it has been slow, but fun. Thanks to my mom and her previous job, I have been able to get tons of beautiful silk and other materials for way cheap and even free. Also, awhile back I had bought this bedding set that was the color I wanted, but a little too contemperary, but the price was right. So starting with the drapes last year, we used an aqua and bronze silk that was normally $35/yard that we got for $75 total for 8 yards along with a very elegant rod for free that the store was throwing away:). The next project that I just started was the pillows. I did major surgery on the pillows that came with the contemporary bed set and turned them into the picture above(I should have done before and after shots) My mom had to help me a bit because I don't know how to put zippers in yet and one of the fabrics was a throw away at her job when they closed that cost $60/yard that I really didn't feel comfortable touching. Between the both of us and the good seamstress genes that my mom passed down, we did a major transformation. The next project(I have to wait until it gets a little warmer) is the bed. We acquired the sleigh bed for cheap and I am going to refinish it. It is a pretty cool technique that I found on you tube. I am leaving the stain that it has on it and just sanding the gloss off, then I am taking a very dark stain and rubbing over the bed making the edges, corners and crevices really dark fading into a deep mahogany. I believe they call it like a "Teak" finish. Then I will be blending a mahogany accent to the side tables I have to make it all match. I am so excited because I love PROJECTS! And for the last project, I am going to try to find either a fancy big arm chair or a chaise and re-apolster it in a chocolate damask fabric. Woohoo, heres to a project summer!

Oh yeah and does anyone know a good place to get like a 16X20 picture or painting for a good price. I already have an awesome frame?

Valentine's Day

So the day started out really nice. Trevor and I were laying on the my bed while Jason was getting ready for work. We were all just talking and Jason casually came over to Trev and I and gave us a hug and then gave me a really big smile and walked off. When I rolled over to see what Trev was doing I saw this ring laying on the bed! I was going to be the one that did the spoiling this year, since every other year always seems to be all about me, but Jason can't resist. Not that I am complaining.

Well, when it came to my part, I had to wait until he got home to go get everything for dinner(should have done this like the day before) and low and behold they didn't have everything I needed. So I decided since Jason LOVES Sushi, I went over to the sushi bar at HEB and had them make him a fresh roll. Turns out whatever they put in that roll did not settle to well with him. It completely aggravated his ulcer. Soooooo I had to run to the health food store to get Aloe Vera juice to calm everything down so that we could proceed with dinner.

The cookies Trev and I made for him didn't get finished until 9 o'clock(at least they turned out perfect thanks to my friend Allie's recipe).

After Trev went to bed we decided to put in the movie that I had picked up, "Date Night". Which was pretty dumb, but quite hilarious, until it got to the long strip bar scene that we had to fast forward through(sometimes I really hate Hollywood because they have to ruin every good movie with trash).

I am grateful that we got to spend time together, but it seems everything had to go wrong...in one night. Oh well, better luck next year. I had a fun game planned, but we didn't even get to that.

Jason claims that he had a lot of fun despite everything(I think he is being nice:), but if he did, well that makes me happy!

Here is some Joyner New Year's Eve Fun. Notice the "Goose Egg" on Trev's forehead. It was about the size of a silver dollar and stood about 1/4" out. That would be from falling down the stairs. We are not 100% sure what happened because we didn't know anything until he came screaming into the living room. He had been playing upstairs with the other 14 kiddos that were there and none of them gave us the same story:) Anyhow, the tough boy that he is, he only cried for a few minutes and then was off playing again. We were out until 1AM and he didn't pitch a tantrum once. What a trooper! As for fireworks, well we enjoyed them at everyone else's expense. And they were beautiful. Hundreds of dollars up in smoke. Thanks Humphrey's for fun games, yummy food, pinata for the kids and good company. And HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!

The Joy of Christmas

I'll start with a story about this Christmas. Most everyone knows that Jason lost his job this year. When that happened we decided to take a huge leap. Not only did Jason start his own business, he also went back to school. Needless to say we have been on a tight budget. So when it came time to Christmas shop, we decided we would do nothing for ourselves, and just buy for Trevor and a few other kiddos in the family. Which at that point would still have to be on a credit card temporarily.

The week leading up to Thanksgiving, we kept getting a knock on the door, but by the time we looked through the peephole no one was there so we never opened the door. Finally the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the knock came again and aggravated at this point Jason runs to the door and throws it open all fired up and ready. Looking down he noticed "The Package". Cautiously we brought it in and started to open the bag. Inside was some candy and what looked to be a Christmas card. As Jason and I stood next to each other and opened the card, $300 fell out. Speechless, the tears came flooding down and prayers of thanks were said. This, my friends, is the true meaning of Christmas. It is a season of giving. It is the season of Love. It is the season of Christ. Through Christ we celebrate each other and all that we have been given. Jason and I will be eternally grateful for this act of kindness. Whoever it may have been, I know the Lord will be blessing you tremendously.

So here are some pics of our fun on Christmas morning and at Pawpaw & Oma's later that day. Without Trevor, something would just be missing. I believe it is through children that the Lord reveals what true joy and happiness is. Thanks be to our Lord for the countless blessings we enjoy here on the earth.

P.S. Since I have become the budget queen and with help from the Lord, this is what the $300 stretched to: 12 gifts for Trevor and a full stocking, 17 gifts for all of the other children, 1 gift for Jason and I, 4 gifts(1 for each parent), and 12 goodie boxes for us to deliver as a family to other families in the area.

Tonight was so much fun. We picked memaw up and headed to the Galleria for FHE. This was the first year Trev would sit on Santa's lap and tell him what he wanted for Christmas. So stinkin' cute. He wants a really big race car that he can drive:) Then we went to chickfila for dinner and ended the night with the lights in River Oaks. Holy cow it was beautiful and ridiculously amazing and I am glad that it is not on my dime:) What a fun way to kick off this week together as a family!

Thanksgiving at the Farm

What a wonderful day, where do I even start? Well, we got to Brenham pretty early so we decided to go into town to get ice cream with Trevor. He just totally cracks us up.

We got to the farm around 12(about the same time as everyone else) and man did it smell wonderful inside. Food EVERYWHERE! I love my whole family, especially when we are all up there because it is such a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, I think there were about 40 of us there and we had a blast. Misty took some wonderful family pics for us and a few fun pics as well. We shot a lot of guns, rode horses. ate too much food...and ate again and again:). I had so much fun sitting outside talking with everyone and watching Trev run wild, literally. Trev learned how to "guide" a horse. He was such a good listener. He also got so dirty from the sand box that we had to give him a both before we left because it was in every nook and cranny of his body:)

We left at 6:30 and Trev slept all the way home, went straight to bed and did not wake up until 9 the next morning. To sum it up...the day totally ROCKED!

Summer Seals

This summer Jason and I trained for the "Summer Seals" competition put on by a few people that we know at church. I was told it is basically the entrance test to become a Navy Seal. We were each put on a team of 5 and I have to say my team was AWESOME! A total of 125 people signed up. We started training in June so we had 3 months to prepare. During the competition we had to swim 500 meters, do as many push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups in 2 minutes each and then run a mile and a half.

So I just learned to swim in June. My wonderful friend Mandi taught me the basics and then Kristen couched me a few times after to get my form right. We pretty much busted our tails the whole summer. Part of your points came from your workouts. I completed the minimum which was 4/week, but always did 5-6/week. I am bummed to say that even though I can do 3 pull-ups at home, I was unable to do any during the competition after that crazy swim. So the following is what I did:

500m Swim - 21:00 minutes
Push-ups - 21
Sit-ups - 75
Pull-ups - 0
1 1/2 Run - 14 minutes

I am pretty proud of myself for finishing. And I have to say I enjoyed the adrenaline rush during the competition. Unfortunately we did not place, but we did amazing. It was so so nice getting to know the girlies on my team during the group workouts and trial runs. What an AWESOME experience!

For fun I am testing myself again in December. So the workouts will continue. Although I probably won't do the swim in December because even in Texas it gets cold:) Oh yeah and for those who don't see my facebook...I GOT A 4 PACK FROM ALL OF THIS CRAZINESS! Yes I am proud of myself.

I have never seen 2 kids this young get along so AWESOME! It is like their little personalities have so much in common that they just know how to handle each other. They played together literally all day with only one mishap and that was only because Kenzie fell asleep and Trev wanted her up. These kiddos are the best:)

I am so glad I got to take a girls trip last weekend. Kathy(Kaylen's mom) rented a beach house in Galveston and invited Trev and I down there to stay a few days with her, Kaylen and Olivia. Even though Galveston Water is nasty, it was awesome to just relax by the beach scenery. The waves rolling in always seem to have such a soothing effect on me. It really makes me miss FLORIDA!!!

Anyhow, we spent some time on the beach, explored Moody Gardens a bit, hung out on the Strand and ate at the Rain Forest Cafe.

This was also the first time in Trevors' history that he got to sleep in the same bed as me. Holy Cow, that kid rolls and twitches and snores. Not to mention, he fell off of the bed twice!!! Needless to say I did not get much sleep:)

Thanks Kathy and Kaylen for inviting me. That was the most relaxed I have felt in a LONG time

Since Jason lost his job 2 months ago, I have become the bargain "Queen" or something like that. And now that his business is starting to move forward, I am still doing this because I am "ADDICTED" to bargains. Here are several things that I have taken advantage of:

I have told many of you about the website I have been spending a lot of time on. I didn't believe too much about it until I started getting this free stuff in the mail .The website is hip2save.com I have been using it for about a month now. It is amazing and there is really a lot I could say about it, but I figured you guys can check it out for yourselves.

Anyhow, the picture is just a few of the things I have been able to get for free from sample offers to coupons that make a product free. And yes that is the new $12 Gillette Proglide Razor in the picture! A few other things that I have received that are not in the picture, are diapers, feminine products, cologne and perfume sample, lunch meat, wheat thins, mac n' cheese, crakerful snack, granola bar, skin repair cream that worked wonders, herbal sleep & relaxation supplement, vitamin D supplement, davinci spinach and cheese raviolis(all of the food stuff was a full size sample), some new "workout" boost gum that is loaded with caffeine so I am giving it away and that might be it. Not to mention the savings on groceries is crazy, I never spend more than a dollar on most items due to coupons. I haven't done as good as the lady on the website though, she gets somewhere around $200-300 in groceries for like $25-50. I will get there though.

Also, my dad is a vendor. Therefore, he buys a lot of coke products. On each product there is a coke reward number that you enter into their reward website. And so far, I have traded my points for a free good grips salt & pepper grinder, 150 free 4X6 photos from snapfish and $150 in Nike gear.

And last, but not least for all who have young kids, I was at the Woodlands Mall yesterday and decided to walk into Sears, which I never do, and went to the kid section...holy cow! They had 9 racks of clothing that was marked half off with an additional 40% off of that! This included Carters and Polo stuff. We are talking about $1-3 shorts and shirts. You can't hardly get that at a resale shop.

So there it is, my new little money habit.

Summer Seals

I am so excited! Jason and I signed up for this thing called Summer Seals. A guy we go to church with started it a couple of summers ago. It is almost like a triathlon, but more. This is also the first summer they are allowing girls to compete. It is a 500m swim, then you have to do as many pull-up, push-ups and sit-ups in 2 minutes each, and finally you have to run a mile and a half.

So I didn't even know how to swim a few weeks ago, but with the help of several friends, I am getting there. I can do the 500m, but not very quickly. I can do the push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups, but only the minimums and I am shooting for the max in each category. As far as running I am not quite down to 9 min and 30 sec., but I am pretty sure I can get there.

You know, I have always been into working out. Lately, I have been doing the P90X program, but I have to say swimming and old school sit-ups have kicked my butt for several days now worse than P90X ever has. I have pushed my body and certain muscles to a whole new limit. I have lost about an inch in my waist and 7 lbs. Craziness! Jason of course is a guy so he is nailing everything pretty much.

Also, if I get the money together I will be doing a marathon with an old friend down in Kemah. I totally can't wait because it will be my first one. I have always wanted to train for one, but never really had the motivation or someone to do it with. Hopefully I will get to update on this later:)

Ok everyone, I have a really close friend that is now a "BAD A" personal trainer and he is doing "Ripfit" classes. You can burn up to 1000 calories per session. This is not for wimps. Here is my boy! He has less than 5 months to go and he will be 3!!! I can hardly believe it. Aren't we supposed to have another one by now;). I am totally bias, but I really believe I have the cutest little boy ever. So here are some things he has been saying: Boom-shaka-laka, that's cool dude, I want scrippers n' prayer, kenzie is my befriend, hot sauce please(applesauce), don't saya word(referring to not nice words), and cut it out. It is so crazy how much he has grown. I say this at every stage, but this has to be my favorite. I love being able to communicate with him and see him explore all the things he can do. Speaking of which, I went to the restroom the other day(I always lock the door because Trev likes to barge in whenever he wants) and low and behold my 2 1/2 year old smarty pants picks the lock with his play keys! Too smart for his little britches.

Jason and I just celebrated our 6th anniversary on the 14th! I am so happy. As I look back at all that we have been through, I can honestly say I married the greatest man ever. He is the only person that I have seen take some of the worst situations and make the best out of them. I am so grateful for his strength. He never gives up, especially on me. Recently, the company he was working for went out of business. Obviously, I was a stressed mess, but the whole time Jas kept his cool because he knew everything was going to be ok. His faith is such an inspiration to me.

Jason, I love you so so much. I am so grateful that because of you I have a wonderful life, a precious son, a joy I have never known and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this, I owe you the world:)

I just had to post this pic. Trevor has to be the cutest most handsome little boy I know! I thought I might share a few funny stories while I am on here about my little stinker.

Story #1 - Lately, Trev has been telling me to kiss his "elbow" and "cheek" and "arm" and places like that. So I was giving him a bath the other day and I usually catch him when he is laying down in the bathtub to wash his back and so on. After I finished scrubbing him down I went to rinse him off and at that moment he turns to look at me, still laying on his belly, sticks his bum in the air and says "Momma kiss my butt"! I fell over laughing so hard I couldn't even breath.

Story #2 - Recently Trev has started to play with his body parts. ALL OF THEM! So we have been trying to teach him that "we play with our toys, not our body parts". So as he was getting out of the bathtub, he stands up, grabs his BOY parts, yanks as hard as he can with a Cheshire Cat grin and yells, "Momma we play with toys not body parts". What am I teaching this boy:)

Easter in Brenham

So i have to say that Saturday was the most relaxing day that I have had in a awhile. It is so peaceful up there. I almost wish we could move up there! It was a beautiful day. The weather was just perfect. We had lots of good food, egg toss, 275 egg hunt for 5 kids:), shot some guns and just sat around under some nice oak trees. Trev played his little heart out. He didn't even have time for a nap. Poor guy slept from 7 that evening until 9:30 the next morning, then took a four hour nap when we got home from church. I think he was a bit wore out. Anyhow, I only have a few of the pics from the kids hunting eggs so hopefully more to come later.

Sis' Diaper Cake

My dearest Great Grandma,

In the last few weeks you have been in my prayers every night. I have prayed that your own prayers would be answered if it be the Lords will and that he would give me the strength to accept His decision. I know the desire of your heart was to be taken into the arms of Heaven. I respect your wishes at the age of 103. I know that you are so deserving of returning to your Heavenly Father, to have a chance to rest and be at peace. I also know that Him along with others in our family have been standing there waiting for you with open arms. You must be so excited to see your loving husband and son again. I am deeply saddened that you have left us Grandma, but I know that I will see you again some day.

I want to let you know that you have been such a great inspiration to me. You have a strength like no other that I know. I never once heard you talk badly about anyone. You had such a wonderful sense of humor. When people would jokingly pick at you, you always had something to come right back with in good humor. I love your old fashioned ways. Ways that have been lost. You were the true definition of a "Perfect Housewife". The smell of fresh bread baking in the oven, yummy jars full of homemade candy and cookies, a sweet smile to welcome anyone at the door and a warm, cozy, clean house to relax in. I remember you getting on to me one day about not having dinner ready for Jason and at the time I blew it off because that is just not how things work now days, but shortly after that I started to feel guilty because I knew in my heart that that is what a good housewife does. She takes care of her sweet husband everyday. On top of all of this I have never heard you complain about your duties of being a women, a wife and a mom. You were always so happy about the role you played in this life. You finished your service to others with joy always. This is what the Saviour teaches.

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to serve you this last year when you stayed with us. It gave you the chance to get to know my sweet Trevor even more. It makes me happy to know that he got to know you also. How many people get the chance to meet their Great Great Grandma. I am sure not many. I so loved and will deeply miss all of your stories of growing up. It will never cease to amaze me how awesome your memory was at 103. I feel now that I may have taken advantage of my time with you then. Please never think in the life after that you were a burden here to any of us. We love you so much and we were always grateful to do things for you. Your company was always welcome.

I never really new your closeness to the Lord because it has always been a really private thing in our family it seems. Somehow I know though in my heart that you had a very good relationship with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. I remember the day of my baptism 7 years ago when you shed tears as I came up out of the water. I will never forget that because it was a testimony to me that what I was doing was right and that you supported me in my decision even though it was in a different church than yours. You had a perfect understanding of how Christ works and not how the world wants him to work.

I do have one regret Grandma and I pray you will forgive me. The last time I saw you was 2 weeks ago. As I have been reading my scriptures, every night a verse kept coming up over and over, talking about visiting the sick. I have been telling myself this whole week that I needed to come see you. So today I made plans that right when I was done with work I would borrow moms car to come see you. And sadly at noon I got the call that you had made your way to Heaven. I was only hours too late. Oh how I wish I would have had the chance to give you one last hug, heard one last story, held your hand just once more and saw your smiling face as your "Little Man"(Trevor) sat next to you. I could ask why, but then I am just being selfish. I love you so much Grandma and I will so miss you everyday. Please send your love from Heaven. Please keep us in your prayers and watch over us. And remember that your family hear on earth has a deep and eternal love for you.

Beach Fun

Galveston is definitely not the prettiest beach, but we had a blast last weekend! We loaded up in the Sevy Van and headed down for a little family trip. We walked the Strand which I haven't done in forever, ate at the pier and had treats at the old ice cream shop. Trev and Kenzie are just so cute to watch. They got to feed carrots to the carriage horses and watch all of the big ships go by. The beach was surprisingly clean(I think they are really trying hard to attract people there). It was really stinkin' cold, but we found that bare feet out in the cold doesn't make kids sick:). Unfortunately, brilliant Tiffany forgot to charge her camera so we only have a few pics. The boys built a huge sandcastle that came up to like my waste while Kristy and I ran the beach with the kiddos. Then of course on the way home they conked out in the back because we wore them all of the way out.

Sugar Cookie Playgroup

So I started a playgroup a few weeks ago. We meet every Tuesday. I am so excited because it is a great group of women and sweet little kiddos. It gives me a chance to have some adult time and Trevor the chance to interact with more kids. So this past Tuesday I decided to make sugar cookies. So we covered the table in wax paper, helped the kids roll out their dough and go to town with the cookie cutters. It was a blast...a mess, but definitely a blast. Anyhow, if anyone has ideas for kids under 3 to do, please feel free to share your ideas with me. I really want to make this a fun, productive time for everyone.

The Joyner/Sevy Bonfire

So Saturday we met the Sevy's at Spring Creek Park for a fun little bonfire. Not sure how cold it was outside, but at least we had a fire. Trev and Kenzie are way cute even though they can't seem to quite share yet. Ice in Houston

So this was hilarious, yesterday Jason and I were out running around and drove by this house on Cypresswood across from the Temple. Keep in mind, we are in HOUSTON people. It was so funny because so many people busted a u-turn just to see this. That is how rare ice is in Texas. I am sure the people in the house were not very happy at all of the traffic in front of their house. Especially when Jas decided to pull in their driveway to get the picture. But you would think if they had the money to live in that big house and have hired maintenance running it, someone would have got the memo that it was going to FREEZE in Houston and they would have turned it off. The high yesterday was 26.

So then this morning on the way to my hair appointment(20 degrees outside) I drove through ice, saw icicles everywhere and then in front of a big neighborhood a whole pond was frozen over on top. So much for Global Warming.

Christmas Day and Night

We spent Christmas Day with Jason's family. It was a blast playing with the kiddos outside with their hand gliders. We ate like crazy, played like crazy and opened presents like crazy. Just a side note: The teal and brown quilt was my latest project that I made for Mary and Rusty. The beautiful crochet blanket was made by my mother inlaw for Jas and I. I love it!!!

We had originally planned to split holidays this year between families because it was becoming way stressful driving all over the place with Trev in one day, but Steve so easily talked us into it by moving their dinner time to 6(which our families usually plan dinner at the same time). So since I can't ever turn down Steve's cooking we went everywhere once again. So over 2 days we went to 3 places. That doesn't sound like a lot, but 1 house was in the Woodlands, the next in Cypress and finally in Brenham on the farm. Yes we are crazy, but it ended up being a lot of fun.

Canton Stories

So I did not take any pictures of our fun Canton weekend, but boy do I have a few stories!

The first story is pretty frustrating. We had planned to leave at 3 in the morning(which we did) to head up to Canton. We get to Maddisonville(right north of Huntsville) and my mom calls. For some reason she had the gut instinct to get up at 4:30 and look in the garage and there she found the bases that hold up the walls in my booth! Thankfully my dear sweet hubby got in the car and met us in Conroe with them so we didn't have to drive all the way back. We would have lost 3 hours.

My second story happened about 6 in the morning while I was in a dead sleep. I take my showers at night so that I can sleep in, which works out perfectly because Libby likes taking showers in the morning. So like I was saying I am in a dead sleep and all of a sudden Libby is yelling for me in the bathroom to bring a shoe. I am still half dead to the world trying to get out from under the covers and scramble for a shoe saying, "What, what, whats going on?!!! I am sure by now we have woke up our neighbors and Libby is still yelling, "Shoe, bring a shoe". So with Libby wrapped in a towel, half standing on the toilet I bust in with my boot and being so out of it, I didn't even offer to kill it. I just handed her the boot. I am sure she was thinking, "Quit wasting time and just kill it", but I didn't even see it. So finally after half waking up I see a "Daddy Long-Leg" the size of my fist in front of her. Good thing it wasn't me. I might have woke up the whole mountain:)

Story number three, It started raining Saturday evening at 5 and never stopped. So to give you a setting, we stay at what is called "The Mountain" in Canton which is a huge hill full of shops and Bed & Breakfasts that weave in and out of the trees. FYI all of the roads are dirt and a little bit of gravel. So driving in was quaint and peacful. We drove down a steep hill into the trees down to this cute little cabin placed so neatly in nature, but driving out, well that is another story. Saturday my first instinct was to park up the mountain and walk down so we wouldn't take a chance of getting stuck, but I didn't. So Sunday morning we wake up and it is still raining. So my second instinct was to just wait it out, but needing to get to my show, I ignore the little voice. So we pack up, I am all dressed up in my True Religion jeans, nice boots, hair all done, looking like a million bucks carrying all my bags attempting to get to my truck. As I am slowly stepping down this tiny hill, I suddenly begin to surf until I run right into the truck. By now I am in a frenzy because my boots and jeans are covered in East Texas clay and my hair is soaked. So I throw my bags in the truck and attempted to wipe the clay off(if you have ever been to East Texas you know that is not as easy as it sounds) Finally in the truck, I put it in reverse and successfully pull out, then as I get half way up the steep hill my truck starts sliding backwards stopping about 3 feet from a tree. And those who know me well, I am yelling and swearing at the air at this point. I decide that maybe I can put it in reverse and go out the other way, but I just sunk! Luckily the Lady that runs the Bed & Breakfast knew a guy that had a tractor that could come pull us out. So here comes this huge tractor with a Garth Brooks look alike, of course he takes my keys to try to get it out himself first, then he comes up to the porch and with an East Texas accent says," Well you did a really good job.......of getting your truck stuck". Just a side note. real southern men are so much nicer than most men. I offered to help get the truck hooked up and he just laughed and told me to get my BUTT in the car. Finally we got the truck on gravel and was able to drive up. The nice man wouldn't even let me pay him, but I sure was grateful he was there! Thank goodness for men in this world!!! I wouldn't want to live without them, that is for darn sure!

I have no clue why I am so nervous over this tutu. The lady that ordered it is my moms best friend who I have known my whole life. Maybe I am just more anxious to hear what she has to say about it. Not to mention it is for her granddaughters birthday party and I am sure 30 people I know are going to be at the party. Here is my latest addition to the Snooks N' Crannys Baby Boutique line. I was going to do a sewn tutu, but could not find instructions anywhere. So I found this really posh baby boutique on line that does really expensive and way cute tutus that are no sew, but very time consuming. It took me 2 hours to make this one and I haven't even embellished it yet because the ribbon is not in. I love love love it and I think my customers will too. My thanks goes to Kristy for the colors themes and Libby for the help making it and finding that website. I am glad we decided to do these! Let me know what you think:)

The Canton Show

So Canton was very interesting. Definitely a learning experience. Not as profitable as I was hoping, but I talked to at least a dozen other vendors and they said that August is the slowest month of the year due to the heat. Fortunately the lady in charge of Canton loved my stuff and has asked me to be a permanent vendor. Apparently getting in, in August is the best time to get your foot in the door for the busy months. September picks up a lot, but October and November are the 500,000+ people months.

So this was my setup at this last show, but it will significantly change for the next show. Martha(manager of Canton) wants a lot more detail in booths in order to move up to the hot spots at Canton. So I will have many more pics to come after the September show. I just thought I was prepared. I am glad I got to learn all of this at a smaller show rather than a big one. The positive news: Martha told me that I will need to increase the amount of product that I have by 3-5 times or I will be sold out in the first day! The other good news: I had a lady approacj me from Arizona about selling to her wholesale! I can't wait until the next show:)

So I have been playing around with some ideas for the hooded towels and with my moms help this is what we came up with. The bows that you see in the picture is what the back of the towel looks like.

And for those who have been wanting to see them, here are the capes. Each one takes me about 4 hours to make right now, so hopefully the better I get the less time it will take. The appliques take the longest amount of time because they are all hand-crafted. And of course I had to add in my sweet Trevor since he was more than willing to model for me, He absolutely loves running around in a cape and pitches an a#1 fit when I take it off:).

So I am way excited. I was able to finally get my business into one of the biggest Trade Shows in Texas. It is called the Canton Trade Days in Canton, TX. If anyone wants more information on the show, you can visit www.cantontradedays.com. The show takes place once a month catering to 100,000-300,000 people per day. People come from out of state just for this show! The show is 4 days!!! I will be featuring in Lot#5 Pavilion#3 next to a restaurant named Happy Days East. So if you are in for some fun and a nice shopping treat, come join us! The dates of this next show is July 30-August 2. I will not be in the same booth every month because I am not a permanent vendor yet, so watch my blog for booth location updates each month. So I have decided that all of the new stuff that I want to try for the business will be tested out with Trev first. I have been looking for a laundry basket for his room since before he was born that is way cute, but still boyish and different. Any luck...not at all. So I found this way awesome basket for $10 and all of the material was left over from his room(my mom did all of the nursery bedding, crib skirt and curtains herself) and here it is. I made my own pattern from scratch and my mom guided me on the sewing and even helped a bit. I am totally in love with it. It is different, it goes perfect with his room, it is way cute and boyish all at the same time. What do you think?

Austin for the weekend

So we left early Friday morning to head up to Lake Travis. Our plans were to stay the weekend camping in Pace Bend Park, but here is how it went. We got there around noon. We found our first camp site right up from this cute little rocky cove, but the ground was so rugged and uneven there was no place to put a tent. The second spot was awesome, but the ground was so hard that we couldn't even drive a stake in. Camp spot number 3 was cool, set back in the trees about 100 yards from the water, close to the restrooms. At this point we took a break and went swimming down in the rock cove to cool off. It was beautiful. Teal green water and I have no clue how deep it was. We tried to find bottom, but we were not successful. We were the only ones there so it was like our own secluded swimming resort. Then we went back to camp to finish setting up only to find fire ants all over everything including the outside of our tent. Camp spot #4, we found this spot down closer to the beach. It was a little oasis of trees. So we finally set up camp about 7:30(reminder: we got to the park at 12) and everything was going great. Then the breeze stopped. Trev slept through the night so that rocked! It was so hot we all slept in our bathing suits. Needless to say we took turns sleeping in the car. We couldn't even breathe in our tents. At 11 Jas was coming into the tent and came face to face with a scorpion on our tent!!! The whole night was just wack.

Saturday we got up and moving around 7. Exhausted, we had one heck of a day ahead of us. We picked up a waverunner at the marina at 9. Met up with my sis, Anthony and Julie. Took turns riding until about 11. Went swimming until about 12, ate lunch then packed everything up and headed to Barton Springs because there was no way we were going to camp like that another night. Barton Springs was really different. It was 105 outside and the water was 63 degrees. It was freezing cold. The good thing is, Trevor loved it. There were at least 1000 people in the cold springs pool. So throughout the day we were debating on getting a hotel and staying another day, but last minute we decided to go out to eat in Austin and drive home. It only took us 2 and half hours to get back which is crazy, but Jason was driving if that says anything.

After everything negative that happened, we all had a blast! Not attitudes at all. I can't wait for our next road trip. Maybe the Guadalupe? Long story short, I love Austin!

Trevor got really sick last week, but it only lasted a day thank goodness. His fever peaked at 103!!! We finally got it down by giving him a cool bath and a dose of Motrin. So I did some before and after pics of Trev, starting with his normal demeanor and then him on meds:)

A Day in Plantersville, TX

My Uncle has been wanting us to come to has property out in Plantersville for awhile now, so we finally made a trip out there. I didn't take too many pictures because I was busy chasing Trev most of the time. He is so a boy. If he could live outside he would. My uncle is raising peacocks, chickens, turtles and a few pet squirrels that they rescued. Trev went crazy over all of them. It was blazing hot and I forgot to put mosquito repellent on Trev so because of me he got 11 bites. What a stinky mom I am. We were having so much fun that it didn't even cross my mind. Anyways, to cool off we had some homemade ice cream. YUM! Later in the evening we rode the 4-wheeler a bit. T-bone was a bit skeptical about it, but squealed with joy anyhow. So that was our day in a nutshell!

The current product line includes: Tutus, SuperHero Capes, T-Shirts, Creepers, Hooded Bath Towels & Wash Cloths, Burp Cloths, Bibs, Pacifiers, Baby Bracelets, Hair Bows, Baby Slippers and Quilts. Everything is available currently with the exception of Quilts. Quilts will mainly be a special product and can be requested through custom order. I know I said we were working on this in the last post about the business and that it would be up soon, but a lot of obstacles have come my way. Custom orders will have a turn around time of 2 weeks and will be available in Orem, UT and Houston, TX only for now because we will be accepting cash only. In a few weeks we should have the credit card terminal up and running for debit/credit purchases which will extend ordering to the entire U.S. We also have a product line finished so if you need something quickly for a baby shower or personal needs just let me know and you are more than welcome to stop by. Trev and Maric

Yesterday my sweet Trev and his cute buddy Maric tried out the new swimming pool I bought. I am so happy they are finally getting used to each other enough that they get along for the most part. They only stayed in the pool for like 15 minutes though and then they just wanted to run around in the backyard. Occasionally they would go back and splish splash a little, but then they were off again. It gave Libby and I a chance to catch some sun anyways.

Then not really thinking about it, Trev went out with his pawpaw in the back yard to barbeque later and decided it would be fun to dive in fully clothed. Have you ever seen a regular diaper after it has been in water. It was about the size of Trevs' head when we took it off. So after that we decided to strip him down and let him play NAKED! At least we were in the back yard:) I am not going to post those pictures. We can save those for his future girl.

Toothbrush time!

So obviously I have been using a toothbrush on Trevor for quite some time since his first tooth came in at 5 months old. Now he is finally learning to do it on his own!!! I still do it when he is done because I am sure he is not scrubbing everything, but it is so cute to watch him try:)
